[1] Described on the dj rear flap as “Permanent Professor in Medieval Art at Complutense University in Madrid”

[2] A coffee-table picture book first and foremost. The text that there is is set in a very large type and in single columns despite the very large format of the book. Many of even the numbered pages are dominated by illustrations

[3] The first British edition, translated from the original Spanish edition published by Ediciones Encuentro S.A. in 1997.

[4] “Avec la participation technique de Robert Malzac”

[5] A series of publications collectively edited by Joanne Esner. The books in this series have erratically printed pagination, with many unnumbered pages at the end of chapters and where illustrations are present. The range of pages between the earliest printed and the latest printed numbered page has been shown, but there are many between that have no page number printed, and I have not attempted to show these details

[6] It shows eight of the twelve titles having so far being published, to the exclusion of Poissons, Bélier, Taureau and Gémeaux. If publication followed a logical sequence through the signs of the zodiac, this would suggest that the first one to be published was Cancer

[7] A collection of 21 essays by different authors, including eight by Perry alone, two by Donna Cunningham, one by Ray Merriman, one by Bob Mulligan, and one by Perry and Cunningham together with two other authors

[8] A Health Research reprint, undated (but this copy issued new in the early 2000s), of an edition first published thus in 1973 by an unspecified publisher, but believed from Worldcat records to have been the Metaphysical Research Group, Hastings. The 1973 edition, in typescript, has here been reproduced in facsimile, but with the publisher name and address on the title page removed and replaced by those of Health Research in a modern font. However, the true date of composition is surely much earlier than 1973, since Perry is recorded by Holden as having died in 1961 at the age of 90. There are no library records available of editions before 1973 under the present title, so dating is impossible, except that it must be before 1962 but after 1924, since Perry is described  on the title page as “Successor to Dr. Geo. W. Carey”, and Carey died in 1924

[9] Not found in German library records. Interal reference to an issue of Die Welt from 1975 indicates a likely date in the mid-late 1970s, but could be from the 1980s

[10] An earlier copyright date of 1990 is also carried, appearing to represent the original date of composition of the text

[11] Ibid.

[12] The page of advertisements in the place of p. 172 clearly belongs in the place occupied by the real p. 172, which is equivalent to [p. 177], and vice versa

[13] Ibid.

[14] After the original edition of Turner’s translation of 1655

[15] Evidently also published by Ouroboros Press in 2003, and although not stated thus, presumed also from Robert Turner’s compendium of transaltions as published in 1655, in which the Magical Elements of Peter of Abano and the Arbatel of Magic were included together with Agrippa’s fourth book of occult philosophy and other works

[16] A series of short anti-astrological essays by several writers from a Christian perspective

[17] This is an embroidery picture-book with pictures themed around Egyptian astrology, not a technical or truly historical book

[18] A series of publications collectively directed by Cesare Scalon

[19] The present edition consists of a greyscale facsimile of the original edition of 1500, preceded by a substantial modern scholarly study in three chapters

[20] A series of publications produced by the present publisher. Its editor and defining purpose are not declared here
