[1] A facsimile reprint, issued early-mid 2000s, of an unspecified early edition appearing materially identical to the 2nd impression shown above, with only the original page of advertisements removed

[2] Library records give 1932

[3] Title to dj front cover is extended to ‘Robson’s Astrological Series: Electional Astrology’; yet in this case there is no mention of the alluded-to series in or on the book itself

[4] A monochrome facsimile reprint from the early 2000s by the late David Roell

[5] Completely reset in modern type from the text of an early edition

[5a] Translated from the Samuel Weiser edition of 1979

[6] Title to front board is extended to ‘Robson’s Astrological Series – 1[:] The Radix System’. There is no mention of the promised series on the main title page within, although the author refers to it as a fact in his preface

[7] Advertising on the dj shows this copy to be from 1931 or later

[7a] A substantially enhanced monochrome facsimile reprint of an unspecified earlier printing. The title on the front cover has been misrepresented as “A Student’s Text-Book of Astrology” (instead of “A Students’…”); but internally the title page has been adapted from a facsimile of the original. The original source copy includes the Note to the Second Edition so it cannot be the first edition, but which printing of the second edition is not apparent since the original publication details have been removed. The additional material, assembled by the publisher of this edition, the late David Roell (q. v.), includes: an index (pp. 244-252); an article “Vivian Erwood Robson (1890-1942) Curator Turned Astrologer” by Hugh S. Torrens, reprinted from Geological Curator Vol. 5, No. 2, 1989 (pp. 253-270); eight pages of content supplied by Graves to Roell, comprising chiefly three obituaries published in “Astrology: the Astrologer’s Quarterly”, but additionally a list of articles by Vivian Robson published in “The Weekly Horoscope” (pp. 271-8); an afterword by Roell (pp. 279-293); and facsimiles of two documents supplied to Roell by the British Museum (pp. 294-5)

[8] Library records give 1937

[9] The volume is presented with two quite distinct title pages of which the one representing the astrological work is the inner title page and the one alluding to the origins of the printing-house at Montpellier is the outer one and also appears on the cover. The astrological work is however the core of the volume, and yet it appears in a facsimile of the original Latin edition and not in a French translation as the inner title page might have suggested

[10] A fine artist from Lyon whose dates are given on the Internet as 1844-1919

[11] A scholarly edition and translation of the extant Babylonian horoscopes

[11a] After the original printing of 2016

[12] Professor of History at the University of California, Riverside, at this time

[13] A series of publications edited by Tzvi Abusch, Ann K. Guinan, Nils P. Heeßel, Francesca Rochberg, and F. A. M. Wiggermann

[14] A series of publications edited by Ernest Bender, with assistance from Paul W. Kroll, David I. Owen and Jeanette A. Wakin

[15] A compendium of 33 studies by different academic historians, including one each by Hermann Hunger, Simo Parpola, David Pingree and Francesca Rochberg-Hamton, followed by a bibliography of the published works of Erica Reiner. A few of the studies are astrological in theme

[15a] The first in an originally projected series of 12 books under the overall heading of Kosmologie. However, there is evidence that the second in the series departed from the original plan in its content, casting doubt on how far it progressed. The front cover title of this volume is instead ’[Kosmologie:] Welt Wende 1949-2011.’

[15b] The publisher name is not given on the title page but is apparent in all the advertisements at the rear of the volume

[15c] The DNB agrees with 1929 as the publication date

[16] After the original AFA edition of 1979

[17] After the revised and retitled edition of 1988, following the original edition of 1980. The present edition is further described as a “revised, updated and corrected fourth edition”. But it is not clear whether the 1988  edition was the first printing of the fourth edition, or the third edition, or the second, since a full publication history is lacking

[18] After the original printing of 1990

[19] The copyright, however, is dated to 1991

[20] The copyright is dated 1979 and credited to the American Federation of Astrologers, Inc.; but unusually, their address does not appear in this edition, causing me to wonder if it is a self-published second edition of an AFA original or truly an unusually presented AFA edition.  Also, there is no indication of the date of this printing as compared with that of the original edition, but my best guess would be only a few years after 1979. The revisions to the present edition appear to be limited to “updated” data on eight of the women under study. A much more major revision would occur at a much later date – see the 1996 edition under the altered title “Astro Data I” above
