Agarwal, M. K. ‘Vedic Astrology for Marriage Point, Love & Discord’ Second Revised & Enlarged Edition – Sagar Publications, New Delhi, 1999

[1] A bound photocopy-based reprint of the original PhD dissertation, presumed first published in or soon after 1990.

[2] At this time, an official at the British Museum with special responsibility for the history of European and Islamic sciences

[3] The present volume begins with studies of Scot’s life and work (pp. 13-61) and of the content and context of his “Liber de Signis et imaginibus celi” (pp. 63-97). A Latin critical edition with facing German translation of the Liber follows (pp. 105-281). The edition is chiefly sourced from an early 14th century manuscript held at St. Nikolaus Hospital, Stiftsbibliothek, Bernkastel-Kues, and two approx. end-of-14th-century manuscripts at the Österrichische Nationalbibliothek, Wien. An in-depth commentary on the text comes next (p. 282-432), and is in turn followed by a discussion of the 22 known surviving manuscripts (pp. 433-553)

[4] Library records show 1939

[5] Yellow-orange, with stamped dark blue titling to front board and spine. This is believed to be the original edition of an oft-reprinted book. It was issued with a dust jacket, not present on this copy

[6]  Library records show 1930. Believed the first British edition

[7]A late reprint of a typographically reset edition of the above, as evidenced in the reduced page count

[8] A set of twelve separate illustrated publications differentiated by the conclusion to their subtitles, as shown below

[9] The central section comprising pp. 9-24 of each issue consisting of background information identical on all issues, it appears that a previous owner of this set therefore decided to do without it in order to have just the differential contents found in the first eight and last eight pages of each issue bound up as reference material

[10] The third Folge was by design divded into two volumes on accounts of its exceptional length. But there is no evidence in German library records of the planned II. Teil ever having appeared in print. Presumably the war intervened. Adler returned to launch an enlarged five-volume work “Das Testament der Astrologie”, starting in 1950 with the first volume, but only that first volume was published before his death in 1955. The planned content for the II. Teil of his original work from the 1930s resultantly did not see the light of day until the posthumous publication of “Das Testament der Astrologie” in four volumes in 1991-3

[11] “Mit ein Nachwort von…”

[12] The number indicating the order of the volume in the series appears on the spine but not on the internal title page
