[1] Dated 1994; but this might relate to an earlier printing

[2] A bound photocopy of the original publication as first printed in 1914

[3] Copyrighted 1921, but the title page shows 1922

[4] The called-for maps are included in the plates. The only anomaly is that there are only 59 numbered pictures beforehand, not 60 as claimed on the title page

[5] There is no page xxvii and no gap in the numeration of the photographs composing the plates between page xxvi and xxviii. The error is merely one of pagination.

[6] Whether or not this indicates that this copy was formerly in the possession of Otto Neugebauer is unclear. The signature would require cross-checking against recorded examples of his to verify this

[6a] A print-on-demand monochrome facsimile-based edition, this copy printed 2015, of the original published by Druck und Verlag von B. G. Teubner, Leipzig, 1894

[7] As dated on front cover. The inner title page is dated 1916

[8] A hardbound reprint, in 2010, of what appears to have been a 1920 printing or binding by Verlag der Bayer. Akademie der Wissenschaften, München of the 1916 edition of the study itself.

[9] After the first edition published in Heidelberg, August 1917; second, Heidelberg, November 1918; and third, Hamburg, Setember 1926. The first two editions were much slimmer works

[10] Essentially a photocopy of the 4th edition (q. v. above), but with the addition of updated bibliographical content by Hans-Georg Gundel

[11] Translated from the printed Latin editions of 1491 and 1550

[12] This volume comprises Treatise 1: Defense of Astrology (pp. 1-26); Treatise 2: SIgns and Houses (pp. 27-147); Treatise 3: Planets (pp. 149-247); Treatise 4: Conjunctions (pp. 249-262); Treatise 5: 146 Considerations (pp. 263-351); and Treatise 6: Questions (pp. 353-632)

[13] This volume comprises Treatise 7: Elections (pp. 633-813); Treatise 8: Revolutions & Parts (pp. 815-1105); Treatise 9: Nativities (pp. 1107-1415); and Treatise 10: Rains (pp. 1417-1453), plus bibliography and index

[14] A monochrome facsimile reprint of the first printed Latin edition of 1491

[15] This total (which excludes accidental repetitions of 10 pages in this copy), added to the facsimile title leaf, gives a total of 407 facsimile leaves in this reproduction. Yet this does not agree with the typical claim of 422 leaves for library-held copies of the complete book. On inspection, however, this facsimile reproduction would appear to be missing solely preliminary and end material. The signatures in this copy are a2-[a8], b1r, [repeats of a8v-b1r], b1v-[b8], c1-[c8], d1-[d8], e1-[e8], f1-[f8], g1-[g8], h1-[h8], i1-[i8], k1-[k8], l1-[l8], m1-[m8], n1-[n8], o1-[o8], p1-[p8], q1-[q8], r1-[r8], s1-[s8], [t1]-[t8], v1-[v8], x1-[x8r], [repeats of x4v-x8r], [x8v], y1-[y8], z1-[z8], A1-[A8], B1-[B8], C1-[C8], D1-[D8], E1-[E8], F1-[F8], G1-[G8], H1-[H8], J1-[J8], K1-[K8], L1-[L8], M1-[M8], N1-[N8], O1-[O8], P1-[P8], Q1-[Q8], R1-[R8], S1-[S8], T1-[T8], U1-[U8], X1-[X8], Y1-[Y8], Z1-[Z8], AA1-[AA8], BB1-[BB8], CC1-[CC8], DD1-[DD8], EE1-[EE7]. The British Library copy’s reported total of 422 leaves additionally includes, according to its own library record, 14 leaves of preliminaries before a1, and a final EE8 following EE7, which together would make up the difference. It is to be regretted that those pages were not included here. On the other hand, the copy at University College London reports only the EE8 and nothing before a1, giving it a total of 408 leaves.

[16] A series of publications directed at this time by Michael Erler, Ernst Heitsch, Ludwig Koenen, Reinhold Merkelbach and Clemens Zintzen

[17] The author’s doctoral dissertation under the supervision of Wolfgang Hübner, accepted by the Faculty of Philosophy at Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster in 1998. It is a critical edition of two 15th century Latin didactic poems by the century humanist Lorenzo Bonincontri (1410 – c. 1491), said to have been an astrologer at the court of Lorenzo de’ Medici. The poems carry the titles “De Rebus Naturalibus et Divinis ad Laurentium Medicem Libri Tres” (pp. 348-493) and “De Rebus Naturalibus et Divinis ad Ferdinandum Aragonium” (pp. 494-669)

[18] A scholarly examination of the entire extant corpus of Mexican divinatory codices, said to consist of 102 surviving pictorial almanacs, many others having been lost

[19] A modern transcription and study of thirty-two surviving prognostications produced by Domenico Maria Ferrarese da Novara between 1484 and 1504, variously in Italian and Latin, preceded by three studies by different scholars, including one by Bezza on the astrological content of the prognostications. Da Novara was the astronomy professor to Copernicus at the Studium of Bologna
