Ghosh, R. K. ‘1001 Efffects of Planets on Stock Market’ No Publisher Stated, undated[14]

[1] No other date is given and this edition is assumed to be from the same year

[2] The copyright date is given as 1941

[3] This edition, printed on a type of paper prone to browning with age, is very difficult to date precisely, but is advertised as the “Second Edition, Revised and Rearranged” on the inside of the rear cover. The main text content appears unchanged from that in the 1913 edition that went by the title “Horoscope Indications”, q. v. above. The title page gives the currently available edition of “Practical Astrology for Everybody” as the fourth, which places this edition definitively later than the one called “Horoscope Indications”. Advertising for “The Astrological Satellite” and “A Choice Collection of Valuable Extracts from the Works of the Master Astrologers” places this edition no earlier than 1915. Equally it cannot be later than the move of Llewellyn’s operations to Los Angeles in late 1920. The internal advertisement for the Astrological Bulletina shows it still as a monthly, priced at $1 a year

[4] This edition seems to be a later issue of sheets from the edition above, bound up with advertisements after the move to Los Angeles in late 1920, and fitted with fresh covers. The main pages are identical to the issue above, sharing its browned paper quality, but the advertisements are fresh and white, and the one for the seventeenth annual edition of the Moon’s Sign book dates this issue quite specifically to around 1922 (the first edition of the Planetary Daily Guide for All, later renamed the Moon’s Sign Book, was for 1906). The advertisement for the Astrological Bulletina shows it as a quarterly priced at $1 a year, a change that did not materialise until some time after June 1921 (at which point it was a bimonthly). The front cover is distinctive on accounts of its revised title, different central image, added copyright date of 1911 (evidently referring back to the first edition of the present book), and additional printed price of $1.00 (which incidentally is twice the price of the edition below as shown in the internal advertisement for the same work within it). The rear central cover image is also different

[5] In this edition, the text has been completely reset compared with the previous ones called “The Student’s Chart Reader” shown above, but there are no immediately obvious changes to the text itself. The effective page count is unchanged. The following stated sixth and seventh editions, however, exhibit significant expansions in content

[6] There is no missing content. A note to the copyright page advises that the printer misunderstood the order placed and consequently began numbering the main pages at 68 in this edition

[7] The advertisements in this copy support it being the original 1927 printing of this edition

[8] The original 11th page of advertisements has been glued over with a smaller advertisement by the publisher; and the 10th is slightly chipped and torn in this copy

[8a] This is essentially an advertising pamphlet for the cell foods distributed by Llewellyn in connection with the writings of George Washington Carey. The main content about zodiacal cell foods, which may have been written by Carey or by George, also appears bound up at the back of our Copy B of Carey’s ‘Chemistry of the Cosmos’, q. v. under Carey above.

[8b] From internal advertising, it can be seen that this is no earlier than 1927, while the address shows it to be no later than 1928

[9] The date of the first is given as April 1977.

[9a] A series of publications collectively edited by D. Frankfurter, J. Hahn, H. S. Versnel and J. Naerebout at this time

[9b] A compilation of 21 essays in French on an assortment of topics related to ancient divination, by different authors including Georgoudi. Most of them cover the ancient Graeco-Roman period, but one is on ancient Mesopotamia and one on early medieval Arabia

[9c] After the original edition of 2005

[9d] Received new thus – presumed as a result of extended shelfwear in warehousing since manufacture

[9e] A series of publications collectively edited at this time by Henk Blezer, Alex McKay and Charles Ramble

[10] Hand-dated “[19]64” by a former owner

[10a] Seemingly reprinted from the original Arkana edition of 1959, itself following the second edition published by Siegismund, Berlin, in 1922, which was expanded and retitled from the original 1899 edition published by Graz entitled ‘Die Geheimsymbole der Chemie und Medicin des Mittelalters. Eine Zusammenstellung der von den Mystikern und Alchymisten Gebrauchten Geheimen Zeichenschrift, nebst einem Kurzgefassten Geheimwissenschaftlichen Lexikon’

[11] Foreword to the third edition dated thus. After the second of Sommer 1910 and the first of 1896. German libraries also record fourth and fifth editions, perplexingly both dated 1920, and a sixth of 1924

[12] Library records tentatively suggest 1898 or possibly 1897

[13] Worldcat records give 1930

[14] Believed to date from the early 2000s, at least in this printing
