[1] The foreword, however, is dated March 1978. After the original edition of July 1974, q. v. above

[2] Identical forms meant to be filled in by the reader as and when future solar eclipses would occur

[3] An early paperback reprint of the above

[3a] The erratic pagination of the present edition reflects its division into twelve separately paginated component lessons as well as a binding error resulting in the repetition of the last ten pages and the rear cover. It would appear nonetheless to be complete as issued

[3b] After the original edition of 1973

[4] There is no copyright page in this copy but the publication details can be inferred from the advertisement at the rear

[5] The date of the foreword is April 1975. No further date is given, but this copy surprises with some unruled underlinings and amateurish-looking notes reproduced in monochrome facsimile on several pages, strongly suggesting that it was produced as a facsimile of an earlier printing of the component lessons. Either all printings were thus, having been prepared from Jansky’s master print of the original lessons that had already been subject to these annotations, or in fact this is a later facsimile reprint. The covers in yellow card look official and original, and the matter is difficult to judge without access to other copies by way of comparison

[6] These two pages share a sheet but have been bound in the wrong order. No content is missing

[7] After the First Revision of January 1976, itself revised from the original edition entitled ‘An Introduction to Medical Astrology’, which was first published in May 1973 and revised in May 1974 (q. v. above)

[8] A secondary treatment of the system of chart patterns described by Marc Edmund Jones in his “Guide to Horoscope Interpretation” (1941), q. v.

[9] After the first printing of October 1974, and the Second Printing & revision of June 1976

[10] After the original printing of June 1972 and Second Printing of June 1976

[10a] A Hong Kong-based sinologist (1917-2018)

[10b] A series of publications collectively edited at this time by Chen Zhi, Nicholas Morrow Williams and Adam C. Schwartz

[10c] A compendium of nine essays by Jao, divided into three themed sections: Cosmogony and Myths of Origin in Ancient China and Beyond; Hemerology, Astrology and Correlative Thought in Early China; and Resolving Doubts: From Divine Providence to Moral Standards and Human Agency. Each section has its own added introduction

[11] Features articles by Marc Edmund Jones, Dr. William M. Davidson; W. Kenneth Brown; Dane Rudhyar; Charles E. O. Carter; Pauline Messina; Edouard Conneau Symours; Ludwig Rudolph; and W. O. Sucher

[12] A combined reprint, reset in compact print type, of four of Jayne’s originally A4-sized typescript works. Horoscope Interpretation Outlined is reproduced from the second edition of 1977 (c.f. the standalone 1970 edition below). The foreword to Introduction to Locality Astrology is dated 1978.  The source edition for Parallels: Their Hidden Meaning is undated. The introduction to source edition for The Technique of Rectification is dated 1974 (c.f. the standalone edition of 1970 below)

[12a] Expanded from the original 1970 edition, q. v. above. The preface to the second edition is dated February 1977. No separate date is given for this printing but it may be a few years later

[13] The author notes that the original longer manuscript towards this short book was witten in 1947, but that he decided to selectively extract just the material relevant to effects upon individuals from his original manuscript for publication here

[14] A planned series of publications dedicated to esoteric astrological doctrines

[15] An early printed dedication is dated 1975, while the introduction to the second edition refers to a publication published in 1978, indicatig 1978-9 as the earliest possible date for this edition, with the further possibility that it could be a later reprint of the second edition

[16] Internal references show that it was written in 1959

[16a] The second part of the present publication is declared as being a reprint of two articles first published in In Search in 1959

[16b] Appears the original printing of this edition. The date is presumed to be in the 1970s, in common with other works in the series. A former owner’s signature on this copy is dated November 1980

[17] The second part of the present publication is declared as being a reprint of two articles first published in In Search in 1959

[18] A fresh printing that appears most likely to be a posthumous undeclared AFA reprint of the second edition from the 1990s or thereabouts, since the binding matches the style of the 1997 printing of Bernice Grebner’s “Lunar Nodes” (q.v.). The date of the original edition is presumed to be in the 1970s, in common with other works in the series

[19] The Introduction informs that the content of this publication was first published in 1959 in three articles in successive issues of In Search magazine

[20] A series of publications edited by Jayne in his role as Director of the Astrological Bureau

[20a] Expanded from the original 1970 edition, q. v. above

[21] Copyrighted 1974; but this second edition is from 1978 or later, as evidenced by itnernal references in the Introduction to the second edition.

[22] Guessed from its appearance to date from the late 1970s

[23] In print: the Astrological Bureau, 5 Old Quaker Hill Road, Monroe, New York. But this may only have been valid for the original printing of the second edition

[24] The only dates printed are a copyright date of 1975 and Charles Jayne’s preface of 1974; but it is not clear whether these both (or just one of them) belongs only to the original edition, with the revised edition possibly having followed some years later. It is possible that the revised edition was produced in 1975 after the original of 1974. In any case, this copy is clearly an undeclared much later reprint, probably by the AFA, and from the late 1990s or thereabouts. The binding even bears the legend “unibind.com” along the inner margins of the plastic sheets, placing it firmly in the Internet era and putting paid to any notion that this printing might date from 1975

[25] The date of the original edition is given as 1988. This is a print-on-demand reprint via Lightning Source.

[26] The copyright date is also given as 1967, apparently suggesting that the first publication was in the same year. No record of any earlier-dated edition can be found in Worldcat, so this appears to be true
