Heilen and Greenbaum join forces to produce the essay ‘Astrology in the Greco-Roman World’ (pp. 123-141)

[4] Copyrighted, and thus presumably originally published in, 1968

[5] It was first published thus in 1978. The additional titles tacked on were presumably all originally separately published. See for example the original of ‘Once Around the Wheel Directions’ below, dated 1966

[5a] Ostensibly the original edition

[6] With separate title page to leaf following [p. 30] of the first set of pages: ‘Placidian Cusps for Above the Arctic Circle by J. Allen Jones Jr – Diagrams and mathematics with examples’ “A Golden Seal Research Book”, Golden Seal Research Headquarters, Hollywood, Calif. 90027. To judge from the separate pagination that follows, this would appear to have originally been a separate work before being combined into one with “Mechanics of Tables of Houses” for this edition

[7] This would appear to be the original printing date for this expanded edition of “Mechanics of Tables of Houses” after the extra information and diagrams added on extraordinarily numbered pages were included, and in combination with the work on Placidian Cusps for Above the Arctic Circle. Compare the pagination with the original, simpler edition of 1968 listed above. Whether or not there was more than one printing of the expanded edition is unclear

[8] A seemingly largely unaltered reprint of the 1945 edition, q. v. above, with further reprints being dated to 1955 and 1969. The subtitle has been changed from that in the original edition; but there is no claim made to any revision of the text, and the only real difference I could find in the pagination was the addition of a diagram to the blank that originally preceded p. 377.

[9] It seems possible that Louise Jones was a daughter, niece or cousin of Marc Edmund Jones, though this would have to be confirmed by sources in the know. His mother’s middle name was Louise but she had died in his youth, decades before this book was published. There are a few other books in this collection bearing her name, which I have not noted, since it did not occur to me at the time of cataloguing them that there might be a connection with him. But the added handwritten note in his hand in this copy strongly suggests one

[10] A later printing of this edition, which is copyrighted 1948

[10a] The title as printed to the dj front cover is instead ‘The Sabian Book: Letters of Insight’

[11] The date of the original edition is given as 1969
