hb Leo, Alan Jupiter: the Preserver 1st “Modern Astrology” Office / L. N. Fowler 1917 £25   Original pictorial paper-covered boards in fair condition overall. Boards are near-fine, but fragile printed paper spine back-strip mostly perished, although the portion containing the word ‘Preserver’ has been conserved and laid in at the front of the volume. Except at the top cm, the underlying webbing remains intact and strong, and both inner paper hinges are intact, except again for top cm of front one. Original imperial price sticker on red serrated-edged paper still adhered to upper outer margin of front board. Small plain-pencilled note to front paste-down. Red-pencilled underlining to pp. 19 and 23, and red-pencilled marginal tick to p. 22. A little blue-pencilled underlining to pp. 25-6. Erasable plain-pencilled marks elsewhere. No other faults found. Overall, a fair copy of the rare first edition, in its original pictorial boards.
