Astrolearn Bookshop: Terms and Conditions

  1. Payment in full is required prior to the books being released for dispatch to you.
  2. For countries served by the shop with automatic shipping cost calculations, acceptable payment options include bank transfer and credit / debit card.
  3. For countries not served by the automatic store (see international shipping policy page), shipping costs will be manually calculated on request by email, and payment must be made by bank transfer.
  4. You must provide a secure mailing address. Once packages from us have been delivered to the address you provided, we are not responsible for any subsequent theft or loss.
  5. Books will be posted within two business weeks of receipt of payment.
  6. All books for sale are second-hand. Older books tend to exhibit signs of wear and prior use. We have inspected all books for sale and listed their salient condition points in their dedicated product pages within the shop. It is your responsibility to read and understand the edition and condition details to your satisfaction before purchase.
  7. All sales are final. Returns are not accepted unless books are significantly not as described.
  8. Books will be carefully packed by us to withstand handling in transit.
  9. In the unlikely event of loss or serious damage in transit, please contact us with evidence and details so that we may follow up any insurance claim.
  10. On international orders, a customs declaration will be made by us to the value of the books sold, specifying the contents of the shipment as used books. We will not declare a lower valuation than the price paid.
  11. If you purchase the books for shipping to an address outside the United Kingdom, you are solely responsible as the buyer for the payment of any taxes and customs clearance charges that may be levied by or on behalf of your national customs agency or equivalent authority.
  12. If you decline to pay any customs charge or fail to collect your package, and the books are therefore returned to us by the shipping provider, we will not be responsible for refunding your shipping costs.
  13. International shipping times vary, and could take up to 2-3 months to some countries. Delays in transit are not a cause for compensation or the cancellation of orders.
  14. All international orders will be sent with tracking. The tracking numbers will be retained by us and provided to you for your reference.
