Original cloth in near-fine condition, with silver gilt titling to spine bright and strong; very light wear to foot of spine and top of front hinge, else fine. In near-fine original pictorial glossy dj with light wear to foot of front hinge and light creasing to lower inner corner of front panel. Trace of paper residue to outer margin of front paste-down. Geoffrey Dean’s copy, with his typed shortlist of summaries of the views of the authors of the individual essays within tipped in to ffep; he has added some red-inked annotations to the margins of his own list. Ffep with former bookseller’s pencilled price and abbreviation to upper margin. Plain-pencilled longitude and latitude co-ordinates added to chart of Dennis Elwell on p. [96]. No permanent markings or other faults found
