hb/dj Volguine, Alexandre The Technique of Solar Returns 2nd thus ASI Publishers Inc. 1978 £75 Translated by John Broglio from the 3rd edition (1972) of Volguine’s book La Technique des Révolutions Solaires. 2nd printing thus, after the first impression of 1976. Original full purple cloth in vgc+ condition, with very short 4mm tear in cloth at head of spine, else near-fine. Silver titling to spine still strong; boards clean and uncreased; binding strong. In fragile original colour-printed dj, which is complete and unchipped, but has archival tissue repairs to the inside of the rear panel to repair long tears, and should therefore be handled with care – otherwise, just moderate edge-wear. Ffep with early owner’s purple-inked name, dated 8-6-79. Occasional plain-pencilled annotations to some pages within (erasable). Lower margin of p. 26 with residual tape-residue staining from removal of former press cutting that had been held there by former owner. No permanent previous-owner markings or other faults found. Overall, a very good copy of this scarce translation, in a sympathetically repaired but fragile original dust jacket.
