hb/dj Volguine, Alexandre The Technique of Solar Returns 3rd thus ASI Publishers Inc. 1980 £60 Translated by John Broglio from the 3rd edition (1972) of Volguine’s book La Technique des Révolutions Solaires. 3rd printing thus, after the first impression of 1976 and second of 1978 Original full purple cloth in near-fine condition, with almost no visible wear; gilt titling to spine still bright and strong. In vgc dj which has tiny chip lost from upper inner corner of rear panel and moderate rubbing to extremities of spine and of flap-folds, with a trace to top edge of rear panel. Internally in vgc- condition. It is mostly clean, with just erasable plain-pencilled annotations and underlinings on some pages, but has a couple of faults: 1) The ffep has been torn out, also partly abrading the upper inner corner of the front paste-down; approx. 2 cm * 1 cm red ink mark attemptedly effacing a plain-pencilled year to lower outer margin of leaf comprising pp. 29-30, which has left very slight traces to the equivalent area of the previous leaf. No other permanent markings or faults found. Externally fine in very good dust jacket; internally near-very good. Overall, this is a near-excellent copy of a sought-after edition, which has become rare in all impressions. Price factors in faults
