[Bound-in errata slip] + [Green-coloured frontis.] + [3] + [2 leaves] + [pp. xiii-xv] + [pp. 17-261] Original full brown cloth in vgc+ condition for its age, with moderate rubbing to foot of spine; light rubbing to tops of spine hinges and outer corners of boards. Gilt to front board exceptionally bright and strong; to spine, it is moderately faded as usual, but mostly still clear. Former owner’s colorful bookplate to front paste-down. Ffep with effacement in black ink to upper outer corner. Tiny chip lost from outer edge of leaf comprising pp. 179-180, with separate short (7mm) edge-tear and minimal marginal ink-staining to p. 179. No other markings or faults found. Overall, this is an excellent, complete copy of the rare first edition in its original binding
