hb Fröhling, Armand Praktische Astrologie 1st Bernhard Sporn Verlag, Zeulenroda 1931 £20 333 pages inc. a few blanks, as issued Original full woven cloth professionally laminated in fine plastic film, and in vgc+ condition, with light fraying to tips of spine hinges and lower outer corners of boards, else near-fine. Old characterful shiny seal with integral star illustration of Boekhandel Synthese, ‘Sgravenhage to front paste-down, which also bears a tiny hand-inked price. Light cracking to inner paper hinge before title page, but holding and looks strong. Very slight straining to paper hinge before p. 15 too. Internal string binding cords occasionally appear slightly displaced, but binding generally still strong. Light cracking to inner paper hinge before first rear fep, with underlying binding again strong. A little green-pencilled underlining to p. 23, but no other previous owner markings found (though similar I did not see is possible on a very small number of pages). Tiny damp stain to top 1.2 cm of gutter just before first rear fep, with diminishing effects on previous and final pages, far from text. The separate booklet of tables originally retained in a sash at the back is not present in this copy. Still, a very good copy of this large, attractively presented old astrological textbook, which rarely survives in good condition.
