hb/dj Lieber, Arnold L., M.D. The Lunar Effect: Biological Tides and Human Emotions 1st Anchor Press / Doubleday, New York 1978 £45   Original turquoise quarter-cloth with gilt titling to spine in excellent condition; adhered to blind-stamped paper-covered boards with patches of adhesive residue to upper and lower margins of both boards, where the book was formerly taped down to a jacket; the removal of the tape has left some surface wear to the paper. Publisher’s dj present and in vgc- condition, with light chipping to top of spine; a little internal tearing along parts of front hinge; 2 cm tear to upper outer corner of front panel; moderate wear to extremities of front flap-fold; and browning to inside of spine. Front paste-down and rear paste-down both stamped ‘DISCARD’ in red. Title page with plain-pencilled library classification number and some plain-pencilled added punctuation and partial underlinings. Copyright page with plain-pencilled tick. Following page with marginal date and related note, also in plain pencil. Lower margin of Contents page with blue library stamp. Some minor peripheral foxing and occasional other staining within, but no previous owner markings found to any of the text pages beyond the Table of Contents. The last of four rear f.e.p.s has been cut out, leaving a stub, at the top of which, as also at the adjoining area of the rear paste-down, is a damp-stain, which fortunately has not reached into the rest of the volume.
