AFA Astrological Atlas of the United States 1st American Federation of Astrologers, Inc., 6535 South Rural Road, Tempe, Arizona 1975 £20 Apparent original impression, with no other printings indicated Original large-format bluc cloth in vgc- condition for age, with patch of moderate rubbing to top of rear spine hinge; and a small one to top edge of front board adjacent to upper outer corner; light rubbing to other extremities of spine hinges and to outer corners of boards. [NB: curvature in photograph is not real – it’s an artefact of using a zoom lens at a wide angle setting!] Gilt titling to front board remains strong and bright. Scattered traces of staining to front board, with traces to rear board. Front paste-down and ffep bear liquid stain to outer margins, with traces of same to rear paste-down and rear free endpaper. Fortunately, it has not visibly penetrated into the printed pages of the book although there’s a minimal ripple effect to the lower outer margins of the last leaves of the index, which can be felt slightly if you run a hand over the paper although there is no stain. Ffep also with former owner’s charming sepia pictorial bookplate. No other markings or faults found. Printed pages are all present, securely bound, and free from markings. Aside from the liquid stain to the endpapers, would rate as internally near-fine. Overall, a very good copy for its age. Rare outside the USA, and very heavy to import
