A major reworking and expansion of what was originally a slim book by Herbert T. Waite Original smallish-format cloth in vgc+ condition, with light rubbing to extremities of spine hinges and minimal traces to central part of foot of spine and lower outer corners of boards. Small bump to top edge of rear board. Gilt titling to spine remains strong and bright. Hinges strong. Occasional pages with sparse mark-up, e.g. marginal crosses, annotations, underlined words and phrases, showing this was a fairly well-studied copy at one time. While most of this is in plain pencil, there is dark-inked underlining to one word on p. 19 and 15 words on p. 43, which was all the permanent mark-up I found after leafing through twice, though I can’t guarantee I didn’t miss any. Short accidental tears to bottom edges of leaves from pp. 13-16, far from text. Corrected dog-ears to lower outer corners of pp. 43-6. Internally good+, externally vgc+, overall a very good copy for its age. This early edition is relatively rare
