hb/dj Rudhyar, Dane An Astrological Mandala: the Cycle of Transformation and its 360 Symbolic Phases 1st Random House, New York 1973 £125 Stated First Edition. The only printing in hardcover, printed on large paper, a much bigger volume than the later paperback reprints Original orange quarter-cloth with green paper-covered boards bearing author’s red-stained emblematic initials to front board, as issued, and deep green-stained gilt titling to spine. Cloth in near-fine condition, boards vgc+ with slight tearing to paper over three outer corners. In vgc dj with minor chipping to top of rear spine hinge, moderate rubbing to top of spine and foot of front flap-fold, and light rubbing to foot of spine, top edge of front panel and other extremities of flap-folds; 4mm tear to bottom of front flap-fold, and another 4mm tear to bottom edge of rear panel; light creasing and trace of staining to lower martin of front panel; small patch of rubbing along front spine hinge; a few traces of browning to rear panel. Upper part of front inner paper hinge neatly repaired with archival hinge repair tape. Ffep with red letter ‘H’ stamped to lower outer margin by former owner. Top 2 cm of ffep have been cut out, presumably to remove former ownership marks. Otherwise a fine copy internally, with no other faults or markings found.
