hb in slipcase Parker, Derek and Julia The Compleat Astrologer 1st Mitchell Beasley Ltd. 1971 £10 Simultaneously released in standard and deluxe editions, of which this was the ‘deluxe’. A heavily-illustrated coffee-table book that also taught astrological calculations and included delineations Original very large-format black quarter-cloth with maroon cloth-covered boards, in vgc overall, with silver titling to spine slightly faded; light wear to top of front hinge; fraying towards top of rear hinge; light wear to feet of hinges; and wear to outer corners of boards. In good- slipcase, with widespread edge-wear and corner wear; some peeling and partial loss of paper from outermost part of bottom edge; and some superficial creasing and slight staining. The illustration and gilt titling to the slipcase front board are still intact, but because of the edge-wear, the slipcase is no longer very good-looking. Mid-brown endpapers intact, with former owner’s name stamp to ffep. Slight liquid staining to part of upper margins of title page and its facing page, far from print. This continues to a lesser degree on the next few leaves as far as p. 11. No previous-owner markings or other significant faults found.
