pb Doane, Doris Chase Astrology: 30 Years Research 1st pb Professional Astrologers Incorporated 1970? £8.50 Retains only the copyright date of 1956, and is known to be the first paperback edition. Internal advertising for the author’s existing books including Astrology Rulerships suggests a probable true printing date around 1970, following the the Church of Light hardback edition of 1956 Original mauve and white pictorial card covers in good- condition, with separation to the top two inches of the front spine hinge, and fairly extensive reading creases to the spine and covers, otherwise just light rubbing and edge-wear. Former owner’s charming coloured flower picture-framed typed name on a piece of paper pasted on to front blank, which has a tiny 3mm tear to outer edge and an old blue-inked price to upper margin. Most printed pages unmarked. However, there are a few exceptions: green highlighting through one sentence on pp. 25, yellow highlighting through one sentence each on pp. 119 and 120, two on p. 121, and a paragraph on p. 228; and one word underlined in black ink on each of pp. 47, 95. This is all I spotted when turning every page, but I can’t guarantee I didn’t miss something. Some pages have corrected dog-ears to upper outer corners. Because of the five pages with some highlighting, rates only good+ internally. Overall, a good copy. Faults factored into price. A serviceable affordable reading and study copy. Scarce outside the USA
