Ltd., 10 & 11 Red Lion Court n.d. £45 Publisher address places this impression in the range of 1922 to 1939, which matches the library-recorded publication date of 1930 for the true first edition Original full blue criss-cross-patterned cloth in vgc, with good, deep colour retained to both boards and spine. Moderate rubbing to extremities of spine, light rubbing to outer corners of boards, and accidental black ink stain towards central part of inner margin of front board, with mild splatter effects beyond; slight forward lean to spine. Internally, join between ffep and half-title page appears weak and would probably benefit from tape reinforcement before it cracks. Binding also slightly strained at joins between pp. 16-17; pp. 32-3 and pp. 48-9; and after final page of advertisements. Charming old New York bookseller address sticker neatly adhered to rear paste-down. No other permanent markings or faults found
