Moderate wear to outer corners of boards; and rear board with extensive mostly peripheral abrasion of the purple paper, but to front board it is mostly intact, with just a few minor losses towards lower margin that fortunately don’t seem to have affected the charming gilt illustration at all – it remains generally strong and bright, and ostensibly complete. Binding remains strong; inner paper hinges intact. Former owner’s blue-inked signature to ffep. Pictorial colour frontis. plate in excellent, bright condition. Later typed address sticker reading ‘Max Heindel Rose Cross Philosophies, Oceanside, California’ pasted over original printed Rosicrucian Fellowship address to title page. Text pages printed in blue ink on rose paper throughout, as issued. Contents complete and unmarked, including 12 monochrome plates as well as the aforementioned colour frontispiece. A charmingly artistically designed short story book by one of Britain’s best-loved theosophical astrologers. Price factors in faults to covers. |
