AUTHOR-SIGNED COPY WITH LETTER FROM AUTHOR. Original rose-pink cloth with gilt titling to front board and spine. Cloth in vgc for age, with moderate rubbing to extremities of spine hinges and lower outer corners of boards, and scattered traces of staining. Gilt to both front board and spine still strong and bright. This copy with hand-signed typed letter, dated October 14, 1987, from the author to a former owner adhered to front paste-down, and with her further more fully hand-signed note of presentation of the book to him to ffep. The binding remains solid and the printed pages generally clean and free from any previous owner markings. Tiny patch of scuffing to upper margins of pp. 84-5, where they had previously become somehow stuck together in the centre. Minor wear to top edge of leaf comprising pp. 151-2. Rear paste-down with small plain-pencilled note, presumed from the same former owner addressed in the signed letter at the front, because it is also dated October 1987. Small thumb-smudge to inner margin of rear-paste-down, and similar to closed outer edge of page block, but an excellent vgc+ signed copy overall, with the added value of the author’s personal thoughts on her methods set out in her letter at the front (see gallery picture).
