After the first edition of 1981 and subsequent reprints of 1982, 1983, 1985, 1987 and (twice) 1988

Original outwardly glossy card covers in vgc for age, with slight linear scratch to glossy layer down whole length of rear cover, which also has a bookseller’s barcode label to its lower margin and a couple of light creases; front cover with minimal peripheral traces of creasing; small horizontal crease in middle of spine. Slight ink-staining to part of outer closed edge of page block. Inside of rear cover has minor liquid-stain to upper margin (confined there) and lower and middle parts toned as a result of newsprint clipping formerly stored there. Inner pages fine, with no markings or faults found. Overall, a vgc+ copy of this early edition with the original cover design. Later reprints are in a reduced size format with different cover design.
