hb/dj Gauquelin, Michel The Spheres of Destiny: Your Personality and the Planets 1st J M Dent and Sons Ltd. 1980 £7.50   Original cloth in vgc+ condition, with silver gilt to spine still strong; small patches (c. 1 * 2 cm each) of adhesive residue to front and rear boards where a previous owner had glued down the dust jacket, which has been liberated without loss. The adhesive residue on the cloth has been gently diluted with water to disable its sticking power. In near-fine dj with light wear to tops of spine hinges and traces of adhesive residue to insides of front and rear panels. To avoid discolouring it, the inside of the dust jacket has not been water-treated, and may retain some adhesive power, so needs handling with care. Front paste-down scuffed at part of inner margin. Ffep with barcode sticker to lower margin, scuffing to central swathe, and plain-pencilled bookseller notes to upper margin. Copyright page with former library stamp bearing integral red-inked inventory number to upper margin, overlain with pale red discard stamp. Small marginal stain and tiny stain over two printed letters to p. 22. Marginal dark-staining to parts of pp. 24-5. Crease across upper outer corner of leaf comprising pp. 25-6. A few patches of minor staining to pp. 30-1. Small blue-inked letter ‘R’ to lower margin of rear paste-down. The rest of the volume appears clean and unmarked.
