Ltd., 10 & 11 Red Lion Court n.d. £75 Library records give 1925 as the original publication date, which is supported by the publisher’s address on this printing, suggesting it is the true first edition Original small-format purple cloth in good, clean condition for its age, with wear to cloth at top 3mm and bottom 2mm of spine, rubbing and partial splitting to cloth along front spine hinge, and moderate wear to cloth over lower outer corners of boards. Gilt titling to front board only slightly faded in parts, still fairly bright for its age overall. Both inner paper hinges intact. The interior is very good. Former owner’s black-inked signature and old date to ffep. Title page and following leaves to p. 16 with 8mm closed tears to outer edge in same place, not reaching text. Plain-pencilled underlining to pp. 16, 29, 37 and 49; plain-pencilled bookseller notes to rear fep. No permanent markings or other faults found. Overall, a good+ copy of the rare original edition
