Lippincott, Philadelphia and London n.d. £75 Title page undated on this edition, which retains only the preface dated in print to 1930 from the original Stallex Publishing edition as published in the UK. Presumed the first U.S. edition, and may or may not date from the same year as the first British edition. Original turquoise cloth in vgc, with light-to-moderate rubbing to extremities of spine, and minimal rubbing to tips of outer corners of boards. In vgc distinctive original silver-printed paper dj, which has light wear to extremities of spine and light chipping to extremities of flap-folds, else near-fine. Front paste-down with vintage printed First Temple and College of Astrology address sticker neatly adhered to lower margin. Else internally near-fine, with no permanent markings or faults found to any other page, just traces of faint plain-pencilled mark-up to pp. 2 and 18. Overall, a near-excellent copy of this early edition, with an unusually well-conserved original dust jacket.
