This edition has become highly collectible. | Original full imitation leather cloth in near-fine condition, with almost no visible wear, just a tiny patch of surface scuffing towards outer edge of rear board (pictured) and minor surface discoloration towards the extremities of the rear spine hinge. The gilt titling to the spine remains strong and bright. The gilt to the top edge is still complete. Very slight traces of staining to front board if you look closely (see main picture), minor spotting to closed bottom edge and tiny accidental purplish pen-mark to lower outer corner of closed page block are the only clues to this being a 40-year-old book. The colour portrait of Lilly is in excellent condition. No internal markings or faults found. Original publisher’s 3-panel fold-out fixed star table and original errata slip laid in loose at rear, as issued. Externally near-fine; internally fine. Overall, an exemplary collector’s copy of this book, in an exceptionally fine state of preservation for its age. |
