[1] Library records give 1929

[2] Library records give 1930

[2a] Internal advertising for the projected Volume II indicates that it was to be called ‘How to Cast the Horoscope’, with publication projected for November 1956. There is no evidence in bibliographical records that this volume ever appeared. Bailey is reported to have died of cancer in June, 1959

[3] A facsimile reprint, issued early-mid 2000s, of an American edition of the work above bearing the imprint: David McKay Company, Washington Square, Philadelphia

[3a] Advertising to the rear cover indicates that three earlier series of lessons, on Elementary Astrology, Primary Directions, and How to Judge a Horoscope, had previously been issued, making the Medical Astrology lessons the fourth. A fifth course, ‘Progressed Directions’, is announced as being planned for publication in the Autumn of 1927, together with a third edition of the most popular course, ‘How to Judge a Horoscope’ of which the first two editions are said to have sold out

[4] Hand-dated “Nov. [19]58” by a former owner

[5] Dated 1979, but probably a recent reprint

[6] Dated 1976, but clearly a recent reprint

[6a] After the original (self-published?) edition of 1977

[7] Dated 1982,  but clearly a later reprint

[8] A series of publications founded by the late Guy Serbat and directed (at this point in time) by J. Dangel and P.-M. Martin, apparently in connection with an organisation called the Association Vita Latina at the Université Paul-Valéry, Montpellier (the connection is not explicitly clear when these organisations are simply listed in rows following the names of the directors of the series)

[9] A series of publications based on scholarly conferences. The series was reportedly founded in 1987 by Mme. Suzanne Gély, and is said to be predominantly Greco-Roman in its focus

[10] A collection of 17 papers presented at the conference referred to, by different scholars including André Le Boeffle, Wolfgang Hübner, and Moreau. The papers in this volume are subdivided into two parts under the headings: “Les Astres et les Mythes” and “La Description du Ciel”

[11] A collection of thirteen further papers presented at the conference described, by different scholars including Josèphe-Henriette Abry, Suzel Fuzeau-Braesch, and Bakhouche. The papers in this volume are subdivided into two further parts under the headings: “Les Correspondances entre le Ciel, la Terre, et l’Homme” and “Les «Survivances» de l’Astrologie Antique”

[12] A series of publications edited at this time by Dominik Wujastyk, Paul U. Unschuld and Charles Burnett, assisted by an Editorial Board of four
