[1] i. e. Duncan Macnaughton, a.k.a. Maurice Wemyss

[2] The numbers of the units within Imperial Buildings are only expressly stated on the title pages to some volumes up to and including 1913. In the editorial to the Feb. 1909 issue, Leo remarks that he also has use of No. 50 as an ‘editorial and private office’, though this unit is not included in the official credits. It is apparent from advertising in the 1938 issues in their original covers that some time between 1909 and 1938, the official offices had moved from Nos. 42 & 43 to No. 40; I have not yet been able to ascertain exactly when, but it would appear to indicate considerable downsizing of the commercial operation under Macnaughton’s tenancy as editor

[3] In this case, the coupon has been cut out from the upper part of the leaf, leaving the lower part intact; its original numbering is not apparent but can reasonably be presumed to have comprised pp. 291-2

[4] In the previous issue, this leaf comprised a coupon entitling the holder to ask an astrological question to the editors and get an answer, on the one side, and a selection of printed answers, on the other. It is presumed that in both this issue and the following one, an equivalent coupon was printed and the leaf electively detached by the original owner for use for this purpose

[5] A pagination error: the content is distinct from that on the real p. 62

[6] There is evidence in the tables of contents of all issues from August 1899 to June 1900 that they were originally bound with the serialised pages of what eventually became the book ‘Astrology for All’ (published the same year), with the firstpage of the supplement in the June 1900 issue being p. 124. However, the original owner appears to have cut them all out for separate reference, and they have been lost from these copies, together with any connected advertisements, as a result

[7] This was found shelved outside but alongside this issue, and it is possible that it belongs to a much earlier one from around 1901 because there is no mention of the edition of Everybody’s Astrology being the second one or a later one

[8] Mispaginated thus. Pp. i-iii and v (1) collectively  comprise the additional ‘Reference Index’ for the year 1907
