Binding format and presentation notes:

  • All issues as original separate string-bound (typically up to 1955, original Foulsham editions, and to 1960, Canadian editions) or staplebound (typically printings after 1955 and all US editions) pamphlets in card covers, except those listed below
  • Issues for 1850 to 1870 bound together without covers in custom quarter-cloth binding with gilt titling to spine, with paper-covered boards
  • Set of issues for 1925 to 1930 bound together without covers in custom full-cloth binding with gilt titling to spine
  • Set of issues for 1927 to 1932 bound together without covers in custom half-cloth binding with marbled paper-covered boards and hand-inked label adhered to front board
  • Many issues for 19th century and early 20th century years have former owners’ inked annotations in them. These have not been specifically detailed for this title.

[1] Since multiple printings of different years were made at different times, it has been found necessary to state the editions held as accurately as possible here. In these listings, for 20th century years, where no edition is expressly stated, the original Foulsham edition is indicated

[2] On the inside of the front cover of this issue, prices are printed in shillings and old pence, with decimal money equivalents shown in parentheses, suggesting that this printing was made around 1970, in the immediate run up to decimalisation

[3] This appears to have been the normal binding colour from the 1984 issue onwards, suggesting this printing is from late 1983 or later
