About this Book Scan

Carefully scanned in full colour from our original printing of the 1917 edition of Foulsham’s posthumous new edition of Simmonite’s herbal work.

Prominent 19th century English astrologer William Joseph Simmonite was also a keen naturopath, as well as being a schoolteacher. The original edition of his Medical Botany is exceptionally rare, but the Foulsham edition of the 1890s brought his little herbal to a new audience and was such a success that it enjoyed further printings.

This is our faithful scan of the 1917 printing, which was reset from the original undated Foulsham edition of the 1890s. Bargain-priced to reflect the realisation that it is not the earliest edition though it is still more than a century old.
