N. Fowler & Co. 1914 £75 The only volume to appear in this series. Leo probably had more planned, but died before they could be implemented. Complete in [vi] + 78 pp. + [pp. ix-xxii of advertisements] Original small-format deep blue cloth in vgc+ condition, with light rubbing to extremities of spine and outer corners of front board; moderate rubbing to outer corners of rear board, and a little general age-related colour-fading of cloth. This copy lacks a front free endpaper and has a tiny clip removed from the lower outer corner of the rear free endpaper. Binding a little strained between printing page and main p. 1, but cords and webbing holding. Occasional minimal binding strain between other signatures, e.g. between pp. x and xi of advertisements, but underlying binding remains solid. Trace of scuffing to a few mm of the blank lower inner margin of p. 17. No previous owner markings or other faults found. Overall, a decent vgc+ copy of this sought-after first edition.
