Publisher’s original full brown cloth in near-fine condition, with minimal traces of rubbing to extremities of spine hinges and tips of outer corners, and traces of faint spotting to spine. Gilt titling to spine only partly faded and still clear to read. Page-edges lightly foxed. Old plain-pencilled price to ffep. Slight creasing to lower outer corners of pages from pp. 463-522, confined to bottom cm and far from text. No permanent internal markings or other faults found. Overall, an excellent, very well-conserved copy of the first edition in its original binding.
