hb/dj McCaffery, Ellen Astrology: Its History and Influence in the Western World 1st Charles Scribner’s Sons 1942 £55   Original lime green cloth in vgc- condition, with boards and spine clean but significant rubbing and abrasion to cloth to top of spine, top edge of front board, and parts of bottom edges of both boards (you would only see this if you really look for it, however). In good- original pictorial dj, whose pictorial front panel is well-conserved but which has parts of the top cm of the spine chipped away, and light chipping to some other extremities such as flap-folds and feet of spine hinges, with a few additional closed edge-tears. The internal binding remains solid throughout, and the pages are clean and free of any markings I could find. Externally near-very-good; internally fine. Overall, a vgc+ copy of the sought-after first edition of this distinctive early account of the history of astrology, in good- dj.
