hb Adams, Evangeline Astrology: Your Place in the Sun 1st UK George G. Harrap & Co. Ltd. 1928 £120 Published simultaneously with the first US edition, which was published by Dodd Mead. The Harrap edition has an attractive front board design with gilt Sun Original full maroon cloth in near-very-good antiquarian condition, with damp stain to lower inner corner of front board and a few more to isolated parts of rear board standing out as the main imperfections. The gilt titling and Sun to the front board are mostly bright and strong, with very slight fading towards the centre of the Sun. The gilt to the spine is a little more faded but still clear and serviceable. Moderate rubbing to extremities of spine and outer corners of boards. Traces of maroon colour spill to lowest parts of gutter between front and rear end-papers, no doubt caused by the same liquid spill that brought the damp stain to the front board. Plain-pencilled bookseller prices to ffep. Plain-pencilled marginal bracketing spotted to a very small number of internal pages, but no permanent markings found.
