hb/dj De Vore, Nicholas Encyclopedia of Astrology 3rd thus Bonanza Books, a Division of Crown Publishers, Inc. n.d. £30 By arrangement with Philosophical Library, Inc., and retaining their imprint to title page and spine, as issued. Shows only the copyright date of the original 1947 edition within, although the Bonanza / Crown edition is later, probably from the mid-1960s based on the dust jacket advertising. This is the third Bonanza impression, as shown by the letter ‘c’ being the first of the letters printed on the copyright page, each of which represents an impression. Original full blue cloth in near-fine condition, with minimal rubbing to extremities of spine hinges and tips of outer corners of boards. In newly repaired good+ dj, which was missing a chip from the top 2 cm of the spine but has been stabilised with archival book repair tissue to the inside of the affected area; foot of spine with minor chipping, also stabilised on the inside with archival book repair tissue; creasing and 1.5 cm tear (repaired on inside with archival book repair tissue) to lower margin of front cover; minimal chipping to extremities of flap-folds. Internally near-fine. Ffep embossed with blind stamp of former owner’s private library; tiny old plain-pencilled price marking to upper margin of same. No permanent markings or other faults found.
