Werner Laurie, Cobham House, 24 & 26 Water Lane, E.C. 4, London | 1939 | £45 | After the first of March 1931 | Original full pale blue cloth in vgc- condition, with moderate rubbing to top of spine and outer corners of boards; slightly heavier rubbing to foot of spine, with some deeper wear to feet of spine hinges. In fragile original dj, which has sun-browning to spine, chipping to the top of the spine and the foot of the front spine hinge, light chipping towards and at the foot of the rear spine hinge, further tearing along front spine hinge, minor tearing to tops of flap-folds, and a few short tears to tops of front and rear panels. Internally a near-fine copy, with toning to rear free endpaper but no markings or blemishes found. Minor straining to inner paper hinge between pp. 136 and 137, but underlying webbing strong. |
