[1] NB: Far from being a mere compilation of her sixteen-lesson course, q. v. above, this is a heavily reordered, edited and rewritten text. It works out considerably shorter than the combined length of the original 16-lesson course

[2] The original copyright date is given as 2001

[3] The date of the first edition is given as 1998

[4] A compendium of 35 papers presented at the workshop described, by different scholars, preceded by a chapter on conclusions from the workshop, written by the editors of the volume.

[4a] A recent combined facsimile reprint, received new in 2016, of numerous short issues of McCormack’s newsletter Astrotech for various dates from April 17, 1937 to March 14, 1942 (a partial and discontinuous set within this timeframe). On this copy, every facsimile page has been overlain with the web address of the reprint publisher at diagonal angles, ostensibly as a copy protection measure, unfortunately obscuring several characters of text on about twenty-two lines per page. It is mostly possible to decipher what the incomplete words should read

[5] A monochrome facsimile reprint of the original 1965 edition, which itself was an evolution of McCormack’s much earlier “Textbook of Long-Range Weather Forecasting”, q.v., in the light of a quarter of a century of further research. The page count is evidently considerably increased although the presentation is much the same, being divided into a series of numbered lectures

[6] The late David Roell’s reset paperback reprint of the above very copy, which he intercepted for scanning with a view to republication when it was sent to me via his premises by the bookseller, in accordance with a consolidated shipping arrangement I had with Roell at the time. He further copied most if not all of the attached contents retained by the clipboard and included them in his edition

[7] This volume contains separate essays by McCormack and Brendel

[8] The date is not given internally but is implied by the reference on the front cover to its belonging to an issue of Kosmobiologie from this year, and the DNB supports this dating

[9] A lecturer in mental health at King’s College, London. According to the King’s College London website, he is Dr. McCrae and has been a lecturer at King’s since January 2002

[10] Professor of Health Humanities, University of Nottingham

[11] A review of scientific research on the traditional connection between the lunar cycle and episodes of psychiatric illness, as well as episodes of violence.
