Complete in viii + 487 + [1] pp. | Original full brown cloth with stamped titling to spine, which was originally gilt but is now faded though still clear to read. One-inch separation to cloth at foot of front spine hinge; otherwise moderate rubbing along spine hinges, with some fraying to cloth at foot of spine; heavy wear to cloth over outer corners of boards, and a trace of rubbing along outer edge of front board, with light rubbing to bottom edges of boards. Ffep detached but present; rear free endpaper loosening. Front and rear paper hinges would benefit from strengthening. Otherwise, internal binding is generally strong. Second ffep with old brown-inked handwritten presentation note in fine old slanting hand, dated 1925. Occasional traces of marginal ink-smudging and other mild staining, but no internal previous owner markings found to any printed page. |
