Planetary Influences. – Vol. III 1st Astro Publishing Company, Hodges Building, Detroit, Michigan 1903 £95 This volume comprises the author’s dictionary of astrology, and is complete in itself. [Green-coloured frontis.] + [3] + [2 leaves] + [pp. xiii-xv] + [pp. 17-261] Original full brown cloth in good antiquarian condition, with fraying to extremities of spine hinges and foot of spine, traces of fraying along spine hinges, and light rubbing to outer corner of boards. Spine backstrip has been reglued with pH-neutral bookbinding glue to prevent loss, and binding is now strong. There is an attractive pansy sticker on the front paste-down, which also bears the stamp of a former owner from Chicago. About a fifth of the first ffep has been cut out, apparently to remove the identity of a former owner. Second ffep with plain-pencilled address on it, and a crease down middle. Collates complete, including the attractive green frontispiece plate. Printed pages free from permanent previous owner markings, just some faint plain-pencilled underlinings, marginal brackets, marginal crosses and annotations (all erasable). Small rust-like stain towards upper margin of p. 220, another to outer margin of p. 246, and a few to margins of pp. 256-7 and environs. Externally good; internally vgc; overall, for its age, a near-very-good copy
