Original pictorial full cloth in good+ condition, with moderate fraying to cloth at extremities of spine, mild browning to spine, and some staining and very slight fading of print to covers. Page-edges browned. This copy signed by Cheiro in plain pencil to ffep. Also with pencilled signature of notable American mundane astrologer Alma Crawford Graning to front paste-down, partly covered in her own pictorial Ex-Libris bookplate. Paper hinge before half-title page cracked: needs reinforcement with archival tape. Binding also strained between pp. 16-17 and pp. 32-3, where archival tape reinforcement would be strongly recommended. Crease across upper outer corner of leaf comprising pp. 37-8. Very occasional erasable plain-pencilled marks to main text pages, presumed in the hand of Graning, from whose estate this copy was received. No permanent markings or other faults found. Once the internal binding weaknesses have been sympathetically repaired, this will be an excellent, unique signed copy and association copy of the rare first edition.
