hb Rudhyar, Dane The Astrology of Personality: A Re-formulation of Astrological Concepts and Ideals, in Terms of Contemporary Psychology and Philosophy 1st in 2nd binding Lucis Publishing Company, New York (sheets) / David McKay (binding) 1936 £65 This is the uncommon second issue of the first edition as published by Lucis in 1936, bound in David McKay binding, probably in the 1940s, which was when McKay became Rudhyar’s publisher of other books. Text complete in xiii + 537pp + [1 leaf]. Original David McKay blue cloth binding in good condition for age, with gilt titling to spine variably faded but still legible; moderate rubbing to extremities of spine and outer corners of boards. Traces of staining to boards. Front and rear inner paper hinges cracked, and although webbing is holding, hinge reinforcement with archival tape recommended (please advise if you want me to do this before shipping, if you purchase this copy). Halo of relative paper browning to inner part of copyright page and facing page suggest that a piece of paper was stored there in the past, but the effect is mild. Vey occasional traces of foxing and / or localised marginal staining. Tiny ink spot above word ‘realize’ to p. 5, and light plain-pencilled mark-up (including some astrologically pertinent commentary) to pp. 273, 299, 301-6, 317-9, 321, 338-341; but generally a very clean copy internally, with no permanent previous owner markings found.
