Los Angeles, Cal. 1922 £45 Subtitled: Articles on The Science of Astrology; The Defense of Astrology; Bible Astrology; Medical Astrology; Prophecy and Astrology; Spiritualism and Astrology Original printed plain brown card covers in good condition for their age, with 1 cm tear to bottom edge of front cover, 1 cm tear to foot of spine; 6mm tear to outer edge of front cover; light wear towards outer corners, and mostly moderate general creasing (occasionally deeper). The orignial cloth-tape backstrip survives only partially, on the inner margin of the front cover, but the underlying spine paper is complete in itself except for the aforementioned tear at the bottom and a short 4mm one in the centre. A few faint old pencil notes to upper margin of front cover, one in very faint red pencil. A fair number of mostly plain-pencilled marginal annotations within. Faint red pencil marks, mostly marginal lines, but occasional underlined words, to pp. 1-5; 10-14; 22; 24; 32; 36 and 40; one blue marginal dash to p. 10. Still a good copy of the very rare first edition of this early book by the famed later author of the Encyclopedia of Medical Astrology.
