The originally gilt titling has faded as usual on this edition, but the letters are still legible. Title page with old plain-pencilled bookseller note to upper margin. Very short tears (a few mm only) to outer edges of leaves comprising pp. 17-20, far from text. The pages remain clean and free from any previous-owner markings I could find. Overall, a near-fine copy of this sought-after early hardback edition, whose only obvious fault is the faded gilt titling on the outside. All editions before 1978 are rare. |
