Foulsham & Co., 5 Pilgrim Street, E.C., London n.d. £55 Library records give 1914 for the original edition, which is supported by the publisher address here Original full red cloth in vgc+ condition, with only minimal traces of rubbing to extremities; a few traces of dark-staining to small parts of boards and spine; gilt titling and magic square illustration to front board are still present and reasonably strong for their age although lightly faded. Old bookseller stamp to front paste-down. Tiny black ink stain (3mm*2mm approx.) to advertising page opposite table of contents, and an even smaller one (or might be pencil) beneath table to p. 55, but no deliberate permanent markings found. Faint plain-pencilled mark-up to pp. [7] and 9 of no consequence to reading enjoyment and could be erased.
