[1] Apparently part of an internal publication series within the publishing house called “L’Homme et l’Univers”.

[2] Despite the suggestion of the title, this is not a work on astrology as it was practised at the Sorbonne in glorious centuries past. Instead it’s a very modern work on the astrological methods of Dom Néroman. The rear cover blurb informs that Monsieur David was born in 1910 in Paris, and that in the late 1970s he wrote a letter to the serving French minister of universities asking for the restoration of the teaching of astrology at the Sorbonne for the first time since it was outlawed by a Colbert in 1666.

[3] His address is given in the advertising at the rear at this point in time as ‘Room 230 – Auditorium Hotel, Michigan at Congress, Chicago’.

[4] One of a number of interesting early works by this astrologer that have become exceedingly scarce. Another was advertised in an issue of the then-young Edward A. Wagner’s National Astrological Journal, which ceased publication with the November 1935 issue.

[5] A printing of the transcript of an audio recording made of a lecture delivered by the author in Chicago on April 14th and 15th, 1963

[6] Appears a custom publication thus, possibly as issued by the Wm. M. Davidson Memorial Library in small quantities, with printed text title label adhered to front cover detailing contents, which are all facsimiles of previously published lectures and articles, as shown. The inclusion of the Julie Baum lecture is explained on the title label with reference to its featuring of Dr. Davidson’s birth chart

[7] A distillation of a lecture delivered to the Astrologers’ Guild in New York on October 16th, 1960

[8] A transcript of a tape-recorded lecture delivered on June 10th and 11th, 1962

[9] See footnote corresponding to the original edition above

[10] See original edition below for fuller details

[11] A transript of a lecture delivered on May 7, 1970

[12] Appears another custom publication thus, possibly as issued by the Wm. M. Davidson Memorial Library in small quantities, although the front cover is entirely unmarked and there is no overall title page. The contents are all facsimiles of previously published lectures and articles, as detailed

[13] A lecture delivered in New York City on March 29th, 1958. Spans leaves 3-15

[14] A lecture delivered in New York City on March 30th, 1958. Spans leaves 16-27

[15] For the later second edition, see under revised title “Medical Astrology and Health” below

[16] Many individual parts bear a running footer reading ‘1956’, and Worldcat records agree, but whether or not this volume as a whole was bound up that early is questionable; indeed it seems unlikely in view of the style of binding and the fact that Davidson was still alive and well in 1956, so the logic of a Memorial Library having being named after him that early seems tenuous at best. The added overall title page is in a modern equal-spaced computer printer font, and a true binding date in the 1970s or 1980s is strongly suspected

[17] It is not clear why there is no leaf A-1, B-1, B-3, C-3, G-8, G-9 or G-10 in this copy. Whether or not it is defective is impossible to tell without comparison to others. Possibly the original source sheets bearing these numbers had been lost before what remained was copied and printed. Alternatively, there might have been a pagination error (the pagination is in any case quite erratic), or a simple binding omission affecting only this copy. It is even possible that the original leaves that belonged in these places were included in this copy only to have been have been removed by a former owner for separate study

[18] After the original edition of 1970, q. v. under “Introduction to Medical Astrology” above. The text had been professionally reset for this second edition, resulting in a shorter page count

[19] A combined facsimile reprint of the original printings of 1959 of the lectures “How to Recognise the Constitutional and Metabolic Types” and “The Sign Rulerships of the Various Organs of the Body”, q. v., including both original title leaves

[20] Presumed 1970, in common with the volume containing Lectures I & II in this edition. Contains a combined facsimile reprint of the original printings of 1959 of the two lectures entitled “Planetary Symptoms of Disease and the Confirming Symptoms”, q. v., including both original title leaves

[21] Presumed 1970, in common with the volume containing Lectures I & II in this edition. Contains a combined facsimile reprint of only incomplete parts of the original printings of 1959 of the two lectures entitled “Synthetic Judgment of the Chart”, q. v., including both original title leaves, but not including the whole original content of each lecture. Lecture V stops abruptly in mid-sentence after p. 22, while Lecture VI ends after p. 31 (equivalent to mid-way through p. 37 of 42 in the original edition). There is no evidence of the other leaves ever having been bound in, and this appears to evidence serious incompetence somewhere in the reproduction process for this second edition

[22] Presumed 1970, in common with the volume containing Lectures I & II in this edition. Contains a combined facsimile reprint of the original printings of 1959 of the two lectures entitled “Specific Disease Indications: Prevention and Treatment”, q. v., including both original title leaves

[23] A printing of the transcript of another audio recording made in 1963

[24] These leaves are not in the facsimile reprint compilation listed earlier, and constitute a group meditation that is said to have been practised by members of the occult science classes led by Davidson

[25] See the later reprint of lectures III and IV together for the missing content

[26] Foreword by Vivia Jayne dated thus, and no further date is given. For this completely reset one-volume edition, she has slightly edited the original text to clarify it. This edition has white covers; the front cover is printed in black. Unfortunately, although the error in the reproduction of Lecture V in the second edition of 1970 was corrected for this third edition, the original text of the 1959 edition of that lecture seemingly being completely restored, the error in reproducing Lecture VI was also carried forward here. Thus, only the original edition of 1959 has the complete text of Lecture VI

[27] The only known appearance of this lecture in print

[28] Seemingly the original appearance of the lecture ’Introduction to Medical Astrology’ – see later reprints of 1970 above
