[1] A detailed exposition of the supposed astrological influences of seven fixed stars in the sign Aries according to different sources, including astrologers [Iris] Vorel, [Vivian] Robson, [L. H.] Weston, [E. C.] Matthews], [Jerry L.?] Keane, [Robert] Deluce, [Nicholas] DeVore, [Eric?] Russell; [Reinhold] Ebertin; [Paul] Brachard; [W. J.] Simmonite; and [George] Noonan. Also cited as sources are the following names I have not been able to pin down: Wynne; Hammer; Lucati; a Cockbain; and Smollin. There is a Venosto Lucati who wrote some historical studies in the 1960s in Italian (but of what relevance is unclear); and a Franz Hammer who wrote a biography of Kepler in German and presented an edition of his Harmony of the World in the same language (again, of unclear relevance). Possibly Wynne may be a misspelling of Wynn. But the Cockbain and Smollin are very difficult to identify. The book launches directly into the first fixed star with no introduction to identify the sources referred to only by their surnames. At the end of the sourced material on each fixed star is a generally much longer section headed ‘General’ that appears to represent the author’s own interpretation. This book was the first in a planned series of twelve publications, one dedicated to each of the signs. It is not known how many of them were in fact produced, but whether the series was ever completed is doubtful. There are no records of any copies on Worldcat

[1a] Amazon records date it to February 2011

[2] The mother of Alec Stuart. The book is dedicated to him, was advertised by him, and is a work of theosophical fiction taking in the planets as a major setting

[3] First published by Element Books in 1990

[4] A series of five studies of major Bible characters, comprising Abraham; Lot; Jakob; Esau and Moses

[5] A hardbound monochrome facsimile reprint, guessed from its appearance to date from the 1990s (indeed, one bookseller offering a copy at the time of writing has specifically nominated 1995), of the original work published by Verlag von Eduard Pfeiffer, Leipzig, 1907, which itself was a compilation of mostly (if not all) originally separately published studies, the first three of which (at least) had been published by the end of 1899

[6] The scan quality on both fold-outs unfortunately is poor, resulting in little detail being discernible on the illustrations or maps, and the accompanying text being coarse

[6a] This work discusses the adrenal glands, the spleen, and the thymus, thyroid, pituitary and pineal glands, connecting them to personality types and then linking them to planetary rulerships. The ‘spiritual’ correspondences of the glands as discussed are said to be based on information given by Max Heindel, of whom the anonymous author was a student

[6b] A series of publications edited at this time by Klaus Herbers in collaboration with a board of eight

[6c] A compilation of nine scholarly essays on areas of medieval philosophy of relevance to divination and astrology, by different scholars including Stefano Caroti, Alexander Fidora, Katrin Bauer and the editor

[7] In this first edition, the author is referred to only as Theodor on both front cover and title page. However, his full name is given as publisher. This might have been an attempt to differentiate his role as author from that as publisher and lend greater credibility to his writing, albeit on false pretences

[8] A planned series of six publications of which this was the first and only one to appear. The other five planned books in the series are listed in an advertisement at the back

[9] Expanded from the original edition of 1925 shown above

[10] Described by the author as a little exposition of the Kabbala, but one whose author is unknown. He declares that its date is subject to historical dispute, but in the range between the sixth century B.C. and the sixth century A.D.. Suarès notes that the Sepher Yetsira is only abou 250 lines long, divided into six chapters. The main part of the present volume, as far as p. 122, is an edition and translation with extensive commetnary of the Sepher Yetsira. The remainder of the volume is a series of studies by Suarès and his various credited collaborators, mostly connecting the Sepher Yetsira to astrology.

[11] This final, separately paginated section is entitled “Les Lettres-Nombres” and printed on paper that has been cut to a smaller size, and yet integrally bound with the remainder of the volume.

[12] i.e. Barley, Alfred, q. v.

[13] The title page appears to suggest they jointly edited this volume, which seems unlikely given that K. S. Krishnamurti died long ago; it is presumed that the abbreviation s/o, usually used on these volumes to indicate ‘son of’, was omitted in error on this printing

[14] Only the date of the fourth edition of 2009-2010 is otherwise given

[15] After the original edition of 2002, second of 2005-2006, and third of April 2010

[16] On this volume, the author is not expressly named, except as the son of Krishamurti

[17] After the first edition of 2009-2010

[18] The title page appears to suggest they jointly edited this volume, which seems unlikely given that K. S. Krishnamurti died long ago; it is presumed that the abbreviation s/o, usually used on these volumes to indicate ‘son of’, was omitted in error on this printing

[19] After the first of 2010-2011

[20] For this printing, the title page omits the ‘and Krishmanurti Padhdhati’ though it is still present on the front cover; and ‘Ruling Planets’ is placed before the main title. For the purposes of this catalogue, the title has been reordered to match those of the other volumes in the series

[21] After the first edition of 2010-2011

[22] After the first edition of 2013

[23] Abbreviated thus on both the title page and the front cover of this edition

[24] After the first edition of September 1994, second of September 1997, third of May 2003, fourth of 2008-09, and fifth of January 2015

[25] Presumed August 2020 in common with Vol. 1 above. The volumes were sold only as a set, and pagination is continuous from one to the next, suggesting that publication date details were deemed by the publisher to be unnecessary in all volumes after the first

[29a] Full title is thus on front cover and spine. The inner title page gives just ‘Punarphoo’

[30] After the original edition of 2007-2008 and the second of 2011. The original edition would appear to have comprised three separate volumes, which have been merged into one here. Three separate runs of pagination are retained internally

[31] Copyrighted 1951; the publisher details are perhaps retained in facsimile from the original printing, but no others are given in this reprint, the date of which is apparent from the added Introduction.

[32] Swiss library records record two printings entitled thus. In addition to the present undated edition, which they presume to have been published not later than 1982, there was another one dated 1983 and credited to the Astrosophy Research Centre, which is recorded as the third edition

[33] [sic: the error is faithfully reproduced here]

[34] Dated 1996; but it is not clear if this date relates only to the first impression, as seems likely

[35] A facsimile reprint of the original CPA edition of 1996, q. v. above

[36] A facsimile reprint of the original CPA Press edition, q. v. above

[37] An added note reads ‘Printed in Puento Rico, U.S.A.’

[38] Pseudonym of Demeter Georgiewitz-Weitzer

[39] After the original edition of 1921

[40] This date is confirmed by the DNB record. After the second edition of May 1923 and first of 1920

[41] After the first edition of 1921

[42] After the fourth edition of 1934; second of 1923, and first of 1921, according to German and Swiss library records. The third edition does not seem to be recorded. The fourth edition extends to 295 pages; whether the present one has been edited or simply reset to fit more text per page is not immediately apparent

[43] The first edition under the present title. The original edition was published in 1923 according to German library records, under the title “Die Spagyriker: Paracelsus-Rademacher-Zimpel”, as the tenth volume in Surya’s “Okkulte Medizin” series, although in his foreword to the second edition Surya claims it was published in 1922
