pb Wade, Elbert Astrology Dial-a-Scope 1st thus Arco Publishing Company, Inc., New York 1970 £35 There was also another edition with the same copyright date published in Dallas, Texas. It is not clear which came first. Original fully functional volvelle device included, as issued. This has three separate moveable rotating discs: one for the twelve signs, one for the Sun, and one for the Moon Paperback book in original yellow card covers in vgc+ condition, with former owner’s stamp to lower outer margin of front cover, traces of internal creasing to upper margin of rear cover, and light rubbing to foot of rear spine hinge. Owner’s name stamp is repeated to upper margin of p. 76 and to outer margins of pp. 1, 3, 5, 78 and [80] – on p. 78, it crosses some text, without affecting legibility. No other markings or faults found. Card backing to device (see gallery picture) has 5mm tear to inner edge of its printed card backing, and light corner wear to same; 1 cm dark-inked line to upper margin of same; and three of the same owner’s name stamps to the reverse side, which is slightly browned and has a few minor stains towards and at upper margin. Device itself is near-fine, with possible partial fading of print to lunar crescent on outer dial, else fine. Rarely found complete with the device, and especially rare outside the USA.
