Description
| hb | Sepharial | New Dictionary of Astrology | 1st | W. Foulsham & Co. Ltd., Sixty-One Fleet Street, London | 1921 | £65 | The true first edition, not to be confused with the more common American imprint by David McKay or later Foulsham reprints | Original criss-cross-patterned full red cloth, with gilt titling to front board and spine. The boards are in near-fine condition, with moderate wear to cloth over lower outer corner of front board, and have retained an excellent deep shade of red and very bright, clear gilt. The spine cloth has faded to pink but there is only minimal rubbing to the extremities, and the gilt titling to the spine is only slightly age-dulled and still fairly strong on this copy. Charming vintage pictorial printed Macoy Publishing and Masonic Supply Co. address label to front paste-down. Front and rear free endpapers both browned on side facing the paste-downs. The printed pages are fine, with no previous owner markings or significant faults found. The binding is strong throughout, and the book is complete in 192 pages. An excellent copy of the first edition. |
